Why the Rooster?

Who am I? love the power of symbols. They poetically convey to us much more than meets the eye. The language of symbols speaks to a deeper part of us which many would call the spirit.

Roosters evoke the symbolic powers of both air and fire. After all, which creature first comes to mind which tops the high placed weather vanes; instruments fashioned to help us "see" the spirit-like winds? And whose blazing red plumage boldly mimics fire with all its symbolic powers of purification, resurrection and new beginnings?

The classic image of the rooster crowing to announce the dawn links air with fire in an eloquent way. It is with a thrust of air passing his throat which sounds his signature clarion call, and it is the fire in the heavens that makes him "sing" as if an appointed messenger of wisdom received from above.

In adopting the rooster as a symbol for the Spirit of Carolina I wanted to convey the spirit of my services as well as a nod to the region in which I serve. So much of the Carolinas is farmland and country, and roosters have always figured prominently in age-old country themes. So why not a cow? This is where the spirit of my Web design philosophy comes in. Like the rooster who broadcasts his loud and clear message received from above, your Web site will loudly proclaim an inspired rendering of your unique message. The design for your Web site will be informed by a penetrating imagination which taps into the spirit realm of symbol. People will respond favorably to the powerful associations that will be made for your product or service.

As the rooster stands as a symbol of announcements and new beginnings, adding a Web site to your business tools will firmly announce your presence and will begin drawing new attention to your gifts. Let the crowing begin!

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

Who am I?

Illustration of Carol Price by Jason EckhardtWho am I? have been trying to figure this one out since I was a teen in the '70s...

Some say “You are what you eat”; if so, I am a walking recipe for homemade gourmet pizza. In a way, that does say something about me; domestic, sophisticated yet down to earth. Others say, “You are what you think.” I am a BIG believer in this one. Whatever occupies your mind has great power in shaping your life. Consider this quote from As a Man Thinketh by James Allen:

Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts. By pursuing this process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the master gardener of his soul, the director of his life. He also reveals, within himself, the laws of thought, and understands, with ever-increasing accuracy, how the thought forces and mind operate in the shaping of his character, circumstances and destiny.

Besides consisting of several parts pepperoni (not boloney, mind you!), much of what I am is what I think, and what I think about is thinking! In fact, the reason why I learned Web design was to erect a site devoted to my vision of bettering society through better thinking. That site, (still very much under construction) is Mindvendor. (I am determined to get some mileage from my B.A. in Philosophy!)

In the meantime, combining my Web design, marketing and advertising skills with my knowledge of human psychology (and the laws of thought), has proved to be a highly satisfying means of expressing creativity and earning a living.

I do this blissfully from my home in North Carolina where I live with my husband of 22 years and our teenaged daughters.

May You Always be Well and Mindful,
~Carol A. Price~
